UPDATE COMING SOON

STAY TUNED...
An update is coming soon.

I know,
I havent posted anything in over a week.
I have been busy with work, Parker,
& getting caught up in everyday life!

Parker is offically 5 months old!

Parker keeps growing,
faster & faster everday.
I will wait to tell you more about all Parker's "first's" this week in my next post.

I HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVE A FABULOUS WEEK!

Wishing You Love,
Momma ME and Parker

Introducing Solids

We are suppose to introduce solids to Parker this week.
I might sound ridiculous, but I'm confused with this easy concept.
I need someone to help me!

Unfortunately, I had to go back to work when Parker was only 7 weeks.
Many women are fortunate enough to raise their children
or at least stay home for the first year.
(I am very jealous!)
Since I work full time, my biggest fear is
Parker will forget me or not realize I'm his Mommy.

My last post I wrote about
how I couldn't take Bubba to his 4 month check up.
Of course, the one day I didn't go,
Dr.McFunny and his evil sidekick (aka nurse who scares the beejesus out of parker)
told Aaron about introducing solids
and many more new changes we need to begin.

Here's the catch...

The Doc sent home this piece of paper with my boys &
it said to add one scoop of rice cereal  to the formula in his bottle
and add another scoop every day for 4 days.
Once we get to adding 4 scoops of rice cereal,
we can try to feed him with a spoon.

OK, SO I GET IT. Start with Rice.

(but Parker wont eat off a spoon & cries when I try to feed him)
Then after the rice cereal IT SAYS
to add a single food (like sweet potatoes or carrots)
We are suppose to feed one type of food for 3-5 days in a row
and then we can introduce the next.

This is where I am confused...
So there is a set of instructions stapled to the schedule.
It says for the first 4-6 months
to only feed him rice cereal, oatmeal, and barley
(accompanied with bananas, peaches or single fruits).
Then at 6 months we can begin adding the veggies.

So... what is it?

I call my doctor and the nurse tells me something else different...
start with rice cereal and feed him from the spoon for each meal.
(breakfast, lunch, & dinner)
If he's still hungry then I can give him a bottle.
For the first week feed him rice cereal,
the second week give him oatmeal,
& the third week introduce barley.

HELP....WHICH ONE IS IT?

When I ask people what they did, no one seems to remember.

So, Parker cries when I try to feed him by spoon
or even by my finger.
I am suppose to feed him rice every meal but he wont eat it.

Lesson Learned

Ever since Parker was born,
the flowers have a sweeter aroma...
every color seems more vibrant...
AND being a Mom comes first!

There have only been a hand full of times
I have heard Parker cry in pain,
the cry that is best described as heart breaking,
it's silent and filled with fear.

This cry causes his eyes to fill with tears
& quickly stream down his cheeks.
This is the cry when Parker only wants his momma,
to hold him & make everything all better.

But, today was different...
today I couldn't be there.

 Parker's had his 4 month check-up.

I usually take Parker to these doctor visits,
but I couldn't leave work today.
Today was daddy's turn to wipe the tears.

We just found out that he weighs 18 pounds,
measures over 28 inches long, & he already wears 12 month old clothes.

HE'S ONLY 18 WEEKS OLD!!!
He is definetly going to take after his 6'6" father.

BACK TO THE STORY...

Here's a glimpse of what happens
when I take Parker to the Doctor...
(I could only imagine how Mr. Wright felt today)

Parker LOVES his pediatrician, aka Dr. McFunny
Every time he enters the room
Parker's smile grows bigger from ear to ear
 and with every visit.

When we visit our doctor Parker gets
weighed, measured, and poked at.
When the nurse enters the
room with needles, silence slowly fills the air.

~Here's a pic my little man from one of his appointments~

OK I have confession...
I have a phobia of needles!

 If it was my choice,
 we would never get shots.
But Parker is a growing boy that needs them.
All I can do is turn my head when they bring
in the needles and hold him when it's over.

At this moment,
everyone in the office (in a 5 mile radius)
 can hear the infamous "CRY".
It is best described as silence and
pierces your heart.
This cry sounds like the concepts of pain
 & fear were just created.

Once he is pricked with the needle
this scream fills every inch of emptiness
in the room.
AND when the nurse finishes up,
I scoop him up with my arms and hug him
as tight I can.

Once he's in my arms and feeling loved,
his tears slowly run dry.
The cry begins to fades into a whimper,
& his tiny grip lightens around my arms.
Then his face slowly lifts up from
hiding in my neck and i begin crying with him.
(It's just one big crying hot mess)

It feels like yesterday we were on our first date and
we fell in love.
It feels like it was yesterday when we were living
in San Francisco and writing our version of the book of life.
 It's all history after that.

TODAY'S LESSON:

I can't always be there for my kids,
but I will try my best.
But, today was Daddy's turn to comfort the tears. We both will teach Parker about different lessons what we have learned in our lives.
So, I need to keep reminding myself
that sometimes Parker will only want his Daddy!

HERE IS TO THE MOST AMAZING
FATHER OUT THERE.
I KNOW I DONT SAY IT ENOUGH & NEVER GETS OLD,
 YOU ARE VERY APPRECIATED
AND LOVED.

RESULTS FROM TODAY'S CHECK UP:
(We finally can begin solids since Parker is growing up too quickly)

First, we will begin with simple rice cearel.
Then the next week we are suppose to add
pureed single veggies to the menu.
AND finally the third week is fruit
and whatever combinations are his favorite.
(REMEBER to feed him only one specific food at a time
for 3-5 days. Then you can add one more and so on...
I can't wait to see what he does and take video)

***FYI Tip # 1: We add a small scoop of rice cearel into the bedtime bottle. (Ingredients: 8 ounces of H20, 4 scoops of formula, & a scoop of cerael)
Tip #2: Make your own baby food, which will also save on spending. I will have a tutorial next week on how to make your own baby food.  ***

Wall Art Tutorials & a NEW Family Poem

I keep seeing women using creative ways to build
wall art or new tutorials for decorating your house.
I would love to have this poem put
onto a piece of art like some of my favorite blogs have been doing.
she simply used her favorite songs that she sings with her son.
she had a fabulous tutorial on how to use decals in your art.

A friend of mine that lives far away (cough, ERIN SACKS, cough),
has always given me the best parenting advice and
recently she posted this poem
I thought it would be just perfect for my
own little art project.

"Read to your children.

Have the courage to say “NO!” at times.
Create meaningful family traditions.

Make home a place where your
children want to be.
Have Family Dinner every night.

...Teach your children to work –
and work with them.
Support your child’s interests.
Talk with, not at your children.

Listen.
Say “I love you” often."

So.... I will post pictures of the project if
I actually complete the task.

OK... I have a confession...

I have this little itsy bitsy problem where I begin a project...
stop... and never return to finish because
I  have started 5 others projects I thought of.

NEW GOAL:
To complete each project that I attempt,
so  I can teach Parker to always finish what he starts
(unlike his forgetful Momma).
HA-HA!!! We'll see if this one sticks...

I'll Start....
My name is Lindsay, I'm 26 years old,
& I'm a first-time Momma!

I married Mr. Wright (A die hard surfer).
We met when I was 16 years old, but didn't begin dating
until I asked him out 5 years ago.

Yep, that's right ladies... I asked HIM out.

We live in Southern California and LOVE going to the beach.
(My husband is dedicated on a mission to train our
little boy, aka Bubba,
to become the next World Champ of surfing)

I began this blog when we got married on August 1, 2009.
After being sick for weeks on end I finally thought...

"Wait, AM I pregnant???"

SO....we get back from our honeymoon and
I pee on 6 pregnancy tests
(YES I said 6! FYI...half of them said negative, isn't that weird?)
Anyways, we finally find out it is True...
we are in fact having a baby.
You ask was it a little Fast? Uh...Yea.
But, was I excited?  MORE THEN LIFE!!!

So... as I juggle my full-time job in the Wind Energy Industry
& my 4 month old baby boy, known as Parker (aka Bubba)
I find myself always wishing that
someone would have told me more about
being a parent or even just a heads up on all the
trials and tribulations.

So, I want to help other Mom's with the little mistakes I have made, the obstacles we have come across,
share the happy moments of having a baby
(which I feel only other Mom's can relate),
AND all the funny situations my
life continues to have married to Mr.Wright.

So, if you want ME to become a follower of your blog,
leave a comment below, so I can link up to you.
AND if you want to find more blogs, join me on the blog hop below.

Have a GREAT Monday!!!

With Love,
Lindsay, aka Momma Me

MOM'S.... I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE,
AN ANONYMOUS READER LEFT A NASTY COMMENT ABOUT
MY 4 MONTH OLD SON & I WANTED TO DECLARE...

"I'M HUMAN, I'M A MOM, & I MAKE MISTAKES
JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THIS BIG WORLD!"

MOST WOMEN ARE HERE TO HELP ONE ANOTHER,
SUPPORT EACH OTHER, SHARE LIFE STORIES, & GIVE ADVICE TO ONE ANOTHER.

I AM HERE TO LINK UP WITH OTHER MOM'S AND SHARE UPDATES ON PARKER'S NEWEST ACHIEVEMENTS WITH OUR FAMILY THAT LIVES FAR AWAY!
I DO NOT APPRECIATE RUDE COMMENTS FROM ANONYMOUS READERS.
DON'T ATTACK MY CHILD IF YOU DON'T LIKE ME.
NOT EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD IS GOING TO LIKE ME,
BUT  DON'T READ MY BLOG THEN. ITS THAT SIMPLE!

JUST LIKE ANY MOMMA BEAR, MY CLAWS WILL COME OUT
IF YOU ATTACK MY BABY BEAR!
